About Me

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Jen. In addition to being a professional dog trainer, I am mom to 3 great kids and 2 wonderful dogs as well as a volunteer with a local animal rescue. Dogs have been my passion since I was old enough to toddle. Dog training professionally is my second career. Before that I worked in medical education. So I guess helping others learn is the common theme of my work life.

I am a positive reinforcement dog trainer (sometimes referred to as a force-free trainer) but I am not a one-size-fits-all trainer. I prefer to carefully consider the needs of both dog and family. I rely on my understanding of human-canine communication, proven science-based techniques, and my experience to help you create a harmonious relationship with your canine family member. My goal is to make training enjoyable and effective humans and dog alike.

One of my main specialties is comprehensive puppy raising from the first day home. As a parent myself, I understand the importance of having a dog who is well-integrated into family life and who is comfortable with and safe around children of all ages. With patience, perseverance and the right tools, your puppy can become the best version of himself.

I also specialize in gentle desensitization and counter-conditioning for all types of canine reactivity, anxiety and phobias and can also help resolve annoying or impolite behaviors. Reach today by completing the contact form.
